Drug Uses
Atarax is used for relief of anxiety and tension caused by psychoneurosis and organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. It can be used for other conditions as determined by your physician.
How Taken
Atarax comes in tablets to take in orally. The usual daily dose for adults is 50–100 mg. Children over 6 years should take Atarax 50–100mg every day in divided doses. Daily dosage for children under 6 years of age is 50mg parted into couple of doses.
Additional Information
Atarax can cause dizziness. These effects can worsen if Atarax is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Use Atarax with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you react to this drug. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, visit your physician. Atarax should be used only by the patient for whom it has been recommended. Do not take less or more or take it more often than prescribed by your physician.
