Drug Uses
Lotensin is indicated for treatment of high blood pressure. It may be used alone or with other blood pressure medicines. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How Taken
Use Lotensin as directed by your doctor. Take Lotensin with or without a meal. To help you remember to take Lotensin, take it around the same time each day. Drink plenty of fluids while taking Lotensin. Not drinking enough fluids or excessive sweating, diarrhea, or vomiting can lead to lightheadedness or fainting. For children who cannot swallow tablets, ask your doctor or pharmacist about preparing a suspension of Lotensin.
More Information
Lotensin may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or lightheadedness. These effects may worsen if Lotensin is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Lotensin with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this drug. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, contact your doctor. Lotensin should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Do not take less or more or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
