Gypsy Run

When I came down the hallway towards the stage for our places call, I was shocked to hear how many people were in the house tonight for the gypsy run. Most of you peeps who made it were either involved with the show, knew someone pretty high up, or you stole them from our intern, Leah Harris. I honestly thought there would only be about 20 people there. I was wrong.

My apologies to Hunter for dropping about 6 lines in our opening scene. Hunter, are you still mad at me? I got nervous to call "line" to Leah (who was on book in the front row) because I think it would have scared her more that I called for a line than me not knowing what I was supposed to say. Not that she's not a fantastic prompter, but c'mon people that has to be nerve-racking to be in charge of calling out actor lines for a Broadway dress rehearsal. Leah just recently graduated high school, so I equate her experience with the fantasy of: if I were on-book for "City of Angels" in 1990. I would've been terrified of James Naughton and Rachel York. JNaugton is of course the equivalent to "Jeff" and Rachel York is of course, "Hunter."
Since no one has ever seen the bway version of the show before, no one has any idea what lines were dropped...so that's good.

I love being back in the arena with my tos cohorts. FIRST PREVIEW this Saturday. Holy balls, people. This is happening.

TicketGanza 2008

A minute ago, we had a TicketGanza in the lobby of the Lyceum Theatre. I thought maybe 20 or 30 people would come out to wish us well and get some half-price tickets. The turn out turned out to be more than we expected. It was so much fun to meet all sorts of people who are tossers.

Here's a photo of the tiniest tossers getting their tos on...

Looking out the stage door of the Lyceum Theatre on 46th street and seeing the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre down the street where The Little Mermaid is playing. I mean, I miss my fish, but come on. Who else was gonna play Heidi in [title of show]? Heidi ? She could do the bra scene, but I don't know if she can handle all them lines... There's Heidi ! But she's too busy being famous for nothing... Wait! Can Heidi sing? If she can belt a D I think she could really put butts in the seats... Just sayin'...

Kids aside, being in that theatre yesterday rocked my world. I feel so lucky to be apart of this whole thing and whatever happens to us and our show, I'm so grateful and glad to be on the ride.
Broadway on 3. One. Two. Three. BROADWAY!

Wow.

Hey tossers. So just home from the first day in the Lyceum Theatre and I have so many feelings. It was a surreal day. The theatre is stunning and the fact that our little engine is chuggin there on Broadway is well...cramazing. Lots o work to do, but I'm game, so keep telling nine people. We heart you guys so much. In fact we heart you so much we are installing new seats in the Lyceum so that we're all in shape for swim suit season! Our tos show rock star John Kazlauskas sent us this video and we couldn't resist ordering them. I hope the Shubert Organization doesn't mind.

Moving Into our New Home

So, I'm super excited because we move into the Lyceum today. Astonishing.

I can't wait to decorate my dressing room and get to know all the staff at our new home. It's crazy y'all! [tos] is starting performances on Broadway in A WEEK!!! AAAAAHHHH! That is me screaming in both delight and terror -- but mostly delight.

For those of you tossers who are coming to see us when performances begin and have mentioned coming to the stage door, you should know that the Lyceum is one of those theatres where the stage door is in the back of the theatre. So as you audience folk enter the Lyceum from 45th street, us cast folk enter the stage door on 46th street. So, if you want your playbill signed by Susan, you better run fast when the show comes down and book it around the block or her invisible jet will have left.

[tos] Gets Naughty!

So in addition to getting our tos ready for the bigtime, Jeff, Larry and I have been cooking up some fun <a href="http://www.broadwaycares.org/events/bares2008promovideo.cfm"target=_blank>Broadway Bares Style! That's right tossers...the shows are sold out but hopefully if you're in NYC you've already gotten your tickets. The event is an annual fund-raiser for the amazing Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. It is super sexy and super fun. We have had a blast and been so proud to donate some time and talent. Even if you aren't in the city, you can go to the <a href="http://www.broadwaycares.org/events/bares.cfm"target=_blank>site and donate!

The theme this year is Alice in Wonderland. Jeffy wrote a kick ass opening number, Larry added his musical magic touch and I supplied some comedy jokes. We've got an amazing <a href="http://www.playbill.com/news/article/118881.html"target=_blank>all-star cast with Nathan Lane, Andrea Martin, Christopher Seiber, Julie White, Mary Birdsong, Titus Burgess, and many more! Add in the direction of our pal the fantastic Denis Jones and you got something people! We'll be there rocking out! Say hi if you see us, and we'll give you all the scoop after the big night!

Ummm...by the way....ticketganza was cramazing...thank you to all the tossers who came out to say hi. You guys rock and it meant everything to us that so many of you came out!

For those of you that hung in there for the bonus clips of our Broadway.com-Tony-Party-Hopping Extravaganza...

My hair totally looked like on Tony night! Am I right?

Technically that isn't a yak. It's a African Cape Buffalo, but you caught my drift... Humidity + my hair = not what I had planned... But it was still an amazing night and I really thought the Broadway.com piece was fun. Thanks Broadway.com for asking us to do that! What a treat! I had a blast! (Even if my hair didn't cooperate.)
