So apparently title of show is opening on Broadway. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! What the effing f! Ya'll it's on! It's Great White West Side La Cage Into the Woods Yearling Q Heights Fair Lady Starlight La Mancha full tilt boogie on! Needless to say our heads are spinning. Many of you wrote about doing tosome things to get out of your funks in response to an earlier blog. There were so many awesome and moving letters (and by letters I mean actual letters brought by a mailman. Okay, there were no actual letters. It was all electronic mail, but I love the idea of a sack of mail in front of the title of show headquarters). Anyhoo, thanks for your inspiring funk getting out of tales. I'll be bloggin' bout that soon. And furthermore , may I recommend having your show open on Broadway to get you out of a funk. Holyfuckingballs that'll get ya going! To say that we are thrilled and overwhelmed is an understatement. There are so many feelings. Excitement, enormous gratitude, a'skeeredness, happiness, joy...stuff like that. Basically I'm thinking, "Oh, this is what it feels like when a dream you've had your whole life comes true." Pretty cool.
And this ole Broadway transfer happened in no small part to the tossers. Jeff and I grabbed a cam and hopped on the interweb and said we're going to bway. We fully admitted we didn't know how or when (which is totes true...I know many of you think this was the most carefully constructed ad campaign, but I'm here to tell you folks...when we started rolling that bway rock up the hill we had no f'ing clue the end result. We knew what we wanted, but it has been truly an experiment in dreaming out loud. When we started doing that and started making up some movies with our friends and then putting them on the web, we began to hear from you guys. To our dee-lite you guys wrote us emails saying "rock another tos show" or "we'll come see ya on the bway." You guys being inspired kept us inspired and snake eats tail. So we kept making up nonsense and calling Mindy and Cheyenne and then some other stuff happened and then...Lyceum, Broadway, life changing dreams came true.
So what's it all mean? It means thank you. Truly. For emails, facebook wall posts, myspace hollas, fan mails, all of it. We are working our assses off to bring you peeps an awesome show. We've got work to do. and we're doing it. But, the last part of the equation is we want you guys to come see us. We want you to finish this crazy tos journey and rock out with your cock out at the Lyceum (okay cocks in..that might be illegal, I'll check..but it does remind me that Equus is supposed to open on Bway...hmmmm..Daniel Radcliffe on the tos show..wait where was I?) Oh yeah, mark APRIL 21ST on your calendars, the day tix go on sale, because we need you bitches to jam the phones opening of act two Little Shop style. We want tos to rock the Broadway as long as you guys will have us, so buy them tix, tell 9 people, and we ll see you at the stage door! Deal? Good.
Oh yeah and so's ya know, we had the most awesome pizza party ever Friday night to celebrate. That's how we roll! Our kick as ASM Tom R made us this (not to be confused with this) Discussions are underway to place it front of house...take that Spamalot!
Tell 9 people.
...and yes the [title of show] show will have another episode.
See you in JuLyceum.*
*JuLyceum was coined by our excellent Jenn Tepper. Nice work Jenn. JuLyceum.
